joba broadcast

if anyone wants  to see Joba's start tonight, it's on here:

http://www.cn8.tv/videoplayer/player/player.asp

thru 3 innings he looks pretty amazing. very simple delivery, and not nearly as fat as people say. and incredible life on his pitches...wonderful fade on the change.

wow
don't know if anyone else is watching Joba but...wow.  8 Ks 1 BB in 6 innings...and even the guy he walked should have been K'd on a 2-2 pitch the ump missed.

simply untouchable. it's true he's a bit inconsistent with his curve, though it's also quite good. and the few changes I've seen have great fade (not really in a position to judge how well ML level hitters will pick it up, though looked like his delivery was consistent). and his fastball and slider are ++ . Wow.

my only worry is that he only pitches out of the stretch, so wonder if there's still a learning process in terms of the slide step.

My top 20 ranking is looking good
I don't think too many other had him in their personal top 20.

I'm calling BS.
I remember after Joba's debut, you said, "Oh, it was against Conneticut, the worst hitting team in AA."

And, you also compared him to Boof Bonser.  Saying, Bonser dominated A,A+, and then got shelled in AA.

He is just dominant every start in AA
I think he is ready for a new challenge.

Horne needs a promotion too
Yankees just have a glut of starters. They need to clear some room with a trade.

Starters
True...it's insane how many MLB ready/near-ready pitchers they have.

Hughes, Chamberlain, Kennedy, DeSalvo, Clippard, Wright, Marquez,Brett Smith, Horne, Karstens, Ohlendorf, Britton, Henn, etc.

They should try and few a near ready position players, cause guys like Tabata, Jackson, Montero, etc. are all in low ball.  The only guys that might help soon are Gardner and S Duncan.

I Watched A Little
The only thing I didn't like was he threw a ton of breaking pitches in the small segment that I watched.  With a FB that is as good as his is, I would like for him to establish it and then go to the curves - but he looked like he was working backwards.  Of course, it could be that the Yanks want him to do that or it could just be a tiny sample that doesn't represent his true approach.

I do still think he's a big injury risk...

Phillip Hughes turning into Barbaro? Odds are that Hughes will probably be put to sleep within the next year. --Bravesin08

i dunno
pretty much pitched like a power pitcher, though with an assortment of pitches. definitely wasn't pitching backwards, though. in any case, would rather he work on all of his pitches.
