5 yrs from now...

Which team will be more fun to watch- DBacks or Drays? Dbacks-Jackson, Quentin, Drew, Upton, Gonzalez, Chris YOung, Scherzer, Webb, Owings, DRays- Delmon, Crawford (probably not, but who knows), Elijah, Upton, Price, Niemann, Kazmir, Longoria, Brignac, Davis, McGee I'd prefer the Devil Rays, but it will be tough to match the D-Backs outfield if Upton keeps up his current pace.

rays
they are too too good...even if Justin becomes the next Griffey...BJ is the next Soriano already...

Hah
I don't know about you, but I would MUCH rather watch Griffey in his prime play than watch Soriano play, and I don't think there's much of an argument as to who was more valuable.

oh, I meant
that BJ is already Soriano...and Justin has the ability to be Junior-like, but is not there yet....

i completely agree with you...actually, Jr is my fave player of all-time...so...no argument there.

don't forget
that the Rays will also have one of the top 3 picks in the 2008 draft. They are deliberately tanking this year again. Constantly bringing in no talent relievers who have BAA's > .400 into tight games. It wouldn't be hard to upgrade that bullpen but management secretly wants to lose. It's sickening.

It's called "rebuilding"
There were issues this year with the NBA and teams intentionally tanking. Isn't that the point of rebuilding though? To intentionally suck such that your team is given a high draft position to get the next stars isn't new.
Go Jays!!!!

Tanking
I do not think anyone tanks in baseball. For one the draft is much more of a crapshoot in baseball and having a high pick does not guarantee a superstar at the MLB level. Also, Boras seems to get the top level players almost every year. Even if there is a consensus #1 talent, there are teams that will not deal with Boras and they will not draft his clients.

There is no doubt in my mind that some teams (Milwaukee and Boston especially) tanked at the end of the NBA season. IMO the D-Rays are not losing games on purpose, doing so could affect the development of guys like Dukes and Young.

In 5 years...
Carl Crawford, Shields and Kazmir will not be DRays in 5 years

+1
And the D-backs will probably at some point lose either Young/Quentin/Gonzalez. (I think Upton is best bet to not be moved.)

Both teams (and the Brewers) should be a pleasure to watch.

Of course in ten years all the guys mentioned will be Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Rangers or Dodgers.

and then in 15 years...
...they'll be LFers for the Braves....
