Braves 2007 draft

I'm not very knowledgeable about the guys on the draft board, and so I wanted to ask what you guys thought about the Braves' draft choices. Obviously, I'm thrilled about Jason Heyward, whom John Sickels adores. What about the rest? Four hitters and two college relievers (including one Boras client with an arm injury). How do you like the guys they ended up with?

Hitters: Jason Heyward, Jonathan Gilmore, Frederick Freeman, Brandon Hicks, Dennis Dixon
Pitchers: Joshua Fields, Cory Gearrin

Rangers?
Blake Beavan, Michael Main, & Julio Borbon for your first 3 picks is a nice start.

seriously...
It's almost impossible to say who had the best draft...gotta wait 5+ years before judgments can even be started.

That's not necessarily true...
Football is a different sport with different time for developing players.  Impact players are drafted upon need basis.  Generally after the first year or two most of the latter round picks are struggling to find a job being that the 1st rounders are guaranteed for 3-5 years depending on option clauses...
Lincecum is the truth!

Braves targeting
middle of the diamond southern COLLEGE hitters today, grabbing athletic South Carolina second baseman Travis Jones (320/415/604...18 HRs, 13 SBs), an Atlanta area native and Georgia Tech SS Michael Fisher, a moderately toosly guy who was well regarded out of HS but had his breakout college year this year ended with a broken nose, or something like that

i drafted gearrin at 113 in the mock draft
personally, i felt as though he could be put in AA immedietly after being signed because of how deceptive his delivery is.  he is going to have a lot of success in the low minors because of the deception, so even if he starts in short season ball,  he should be moved fairly quickly.

re
Braves over drafted Dixon, who hasn't played baseball in 4 years and most likely will be trying to pursue a professional football career than baseball.

I have no qualms about drafting an athlete like Dixon, but do it in rounds #35-45, not with your 5th rounder
