Gorkys Hernandez's Future
I'm trying to figure out where he fits in the Tigers future plans. I'm guessing his best case of scenario is Monroe flames out Granderson shifts to Right when Maybin comes up and Gorky's lands in left. By this point Sheff should be retired and Maggs should be a full time DH. From what he's showing is he going to be good enough to start because the outfield of Gorkys, Cameron, and Granderson in the spacious COPA should be incredible to watch. It would also give the Tigers some much needed speed on the basepaths. I'm interested to see where others think Gorky's falls into the Tigers plans.
Weekend sweep of the Twins starts tonight.

There is time
As far as development goes if he makes it to A+ by the end of the year, then he starts '08 in A+ and moves up to AA mid season. Then he starts '09 in AAA and gets a midseason callup, that would probably be best case scenario.
A lot of things could change between now and July of 2009. But to actually answer your question, I think your situation is correct. I assume that is how they would play them. From all I have read Gorkys is the worst fielder of the bunch so hed go to left. That would be a very good outfield, not stacked with power but plenty of speed.

Gorkys reminds me of Granderson a bit.
