You can make this decision 4 me Bills for Felix

I have never asked for fantasy advice...but i am in a 5x5 league and i have been offered $18 dollar Felix Hernandez for 1$ Chad Billingsley. I want to hear from people that have an opinion when it comes to $ and an opinion if Hernandez is clearly better than Bills. I think that Hernandez is a stud but will he really be better the rest of the season than Bills who is finally getting his shot at the rotation. So let me know your opinion....I am $20 under the cap but do have Harden($23) and T.Gordon($15) coming back soon...I could take Felix and bench Andruw Jones($25) to make room for my cap....ok alot of info here....but let me hear an opinion please

pass
call me crazy, i say no.  felix has more ceiling than maybe anybody in the game, but he's a pitcher who hasn't come through the injury nexus yet and is looking a little wobbly on that front.  so he still has a really high attrition rate hanging on him.  billingsley isn't the same talent (who is) but i'll take the somewhat older (therefore safer), massively cheaper, almost-as-good guy and sleep at night.

Is Gordon Worth Anything?
I read that Myers is going to close if they are both healthy...I'm not sure that Gordon is worth that money.  If you are already under the cap and you don't really need Gordon, I wouldn't think you need to cut salary...

Without knowing anything but the salaries and the players I would think that C-Billz at $1 is better value than Felix at $18.

Phillip Hughes turning into Barbaro? Odds are that Hughes will probably be put to sleep within the next year. --Bravesin08

releasing Gordon
I will cut Gordon if it does not look like he will be the closer....i think if he beats Myers off the dl he could close for a week or 2....that time could dictate how the Phills use him the rest of the season

I'm not as high on Billingsley, I say do it...
I think you have to take on the extra salary and risk for Hernandez.  I'm not a fan, but at the same time, in terms of risk vs reward if you are under the cap, it makes complete sense to get Hernandez.  Jones isn't playing at the level of $23 and should be benched, as for Gordon, I'd be weary of him coming back within the next 2 weeks let alone a month.  Harden is going to be relegated to the bullpen, but I'd leave him on the DL until I know exactly what his role is going to be, if possible.

$1 for Billingsley makes him attractive, but Hernandez's talent and expected role as an ace is more valuable..

nice argument
for Gordon we can only leave guys on the dl one week after they are activated than we have to release them....Harden scares me coming back as a reliever(for now) i think it will be interesting to compare Bills and Felix stats from now til the end of the year....Bills definitely gets his share of k's plus his team should be in the race all year.

Take Billz
Billz has the rotation spot for the rest of the year, provided he performs decently, which I think he will. Since Schmidt is out for the year, there's really no one breathing down his neck.

As good as Felix could be, there is a reason this guy is willing to make this trade. Felix has been terrible and is expensive, whereas Billz has been fantastic and cheap. Will it translate to the rotation? I think it will, but even if it doesn't, he can't be any worse than Felix has been for the last month or two. Imagine how you'd feel paying $18 for mediocre Felix while a $1 Billz mows down the national league in a favorable home ballpark. Play it safe, don't make the trade.

I agree
plus it is a keeper league with a $3 increase each year(max 4 year deal) so i could have Bills in 2011 at $13....i am going to go with Bills
