I believe he took a line drive to the head while pitching for Kane County. He has a skull fracture and is going to be out the rest of the season.

He might not be out the rest of the season
But you're correct, he took a liner off his head and fractured his skull.

he's pitched barely 50 innings
since being drafted in 05, one injury after another. i'm not expecting much from him, was a risky pick from the get go

Come on
Getting hit in the head by a line drive is bad luck, it has nothing to do with a guy being injury prone.  Yeah, he was injured last year, but there was concern about his throwing motion and potential injury to begin with, a lot of the reason for the talk of moving him to the pen to try and lessen the risk of injury.  I'd be willing to bet that Italiano to the pen will be what we see next year, if not this year when/if he comes back.

thanks for the info
guys I can't blieve I totally thought about the line drive oh well I hope he's okay also I think he has the potential to be a dominating closer down the road fastball/slider combo that he has is devistating but... I want the A's to be more patient and let him start for a longer time becuase he could be a great one thanks guys.
