Blake Dewitt

Blake Dewitt has really been showing signs of life lately and has his batting average up to .279 with an OPS of .762. He is also 10 for his last 18.

Is there any hope left for Dewitt? Does anyone know if he has changed his stance, or had some sort of breakthrough that has lead to the increase in his numbers? What is his story as a prospect these days?

yeh theres hope...hes only 21...

not like he's 26 and still in A ball...I really need to see him in AA though...before we announce his official 'breakthrough'....seems like he's been a 'breathrough candidate' for 3 years now...

DeWitt

He's hitting .386/.462/.649 in June (14 games) after doing virtually nothing in April and May. What's changed? Maybe he played through a nagging injury for two months, maybe he has changed something on the advice of his hitting coach, or maybe he is like a lot of major leaguers and just had a bad slump that can't be explained. In following prospects, there is the temptation to think you know the whole story just because you can read a boxscore. We can't watch their games in person, and the media is not falling over themselves to write and talk about their every move like the media do for major leaguers, so we have nothing but stats to go on. I can't get a fix on what DeWitt's future is right now. After becoming quite pessimistic about him for a while, I am content to wait to see how he does in the second half of the season.
