Who are some of the young pitchers/players really impressing you so far?
I'm suprised at the lack of attention on message boards for Jake Peavy and Jeremy Bonderman.
Peavy is dominating lately, with a 1.75 ERA and 56 K's in 46 IP.
Bonderman has walked 5 (!!) in 39 IP and K'd 33. He's "only" got a 3.69 ERA in the AL, and 1 win so I guess the media would feel free to ignore his performance/growth.
Another guy I'm loving this year is CC Sabathia, a sleeper for the Cy Young in the AL. He's got 53 K's in 49 IP with 9 walks, and a 3.45 ERA.
Travis Buck is only hitting .211, but he's got a .341 OBP and .447 SLG. I like watching this guy hit.
BJ Upton is quietly being one of baseballs better hitters in this early season.
Theres alot of young guys out there impressing. Lets give you know...someone not named Tim or Phil some credit.
