MOD Chicago Cubs #2

Cubs have picks 3, 48, 98, 128, 158

Players I'm looking at for pick 3:
Matt Wieters
Josh Vitters
Rick Porcello

That's pretty much what it boils down to with the 3rd overall pick. At this point I'm leaning towards Wieters.

Pick 48:
Justin Jackson
Todd Frazier
Joshua Fields
Jordan Walden(if he doesn't sign)
Matt Mangini
Mitch Canham
Yasmani Grandal
Cole St. Clair
Nevin Griffith
Chris Withrow

Guys like Mangini, Grandal and Canham could be taken off this list because of Wieters and Vitters. If I take Wieters, I'm not going to take Canham or Grandal. If I take Vitters, I'm not going to take Mangini.
This how I'd rank the pitchers on my list: Griffith, Walden, Withrow, St. Clair, Fields.

Would love to get suggestions for pick 48, 98, 128, 158.

Tough Call..

Pawelek and Samardjza (sp?) have been quite disappointing for the Cubbies (one out of HS, the other out of college). Personally, I think they should look for a bat. Weiters or Vitters seem like the better options.

Between the two fo them, a switch hitting, power catcher with a good arm seems a lot harder to find, IMO, so I lean to Weiters. Arguably, ppl say take the 'best' available talent, regardless of position, so I guess it's whether or not you think Porcello and Vitters have more potential than Weiters.

Man this is pathetic

The Yanks have 30 posts on who to draft at #30 and nothing going on here. I wanted to volunteer for the Cubs, but knew this month was going to be crazy for me so I didn't. I wish I was more help, but just don't have the time to dig deeper than the 1st round or so right now.

First off

there is like two posts as to who the yanks should pick, and the teams that have a lot of interest in the MOD threads is almost completely random, I am running the Mets and there are only like 3 posts in my thread. The three biggest ones are the Giants Diamondbacks and Pirates. The reason there isnt much interest is that its a pretty easy choice, you take Porcello, Vitters, or Weiters depending on who falls.

Don't Worry

I also believe a lot of guys on my list will be gone. Jordan Walden just signed with ANA so I'll cross him off.
I'm ranking the top 50 guys in the draft right now and will take the best one on my list that is available when it comes time for the pick. Unless of course that player plays the same position as Wieters or Vitters.
