Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Ryan Braun, welcome to The Show

The days of Counsellnino are over...let the world (specifically Milwaukee) rejoice!!!

From the looks of it, the first pitcher Braun will face is future HOF Greg Maddux.  In Petco Park.  Yikes - talk about tough intros...

Jews in the majors
Just try not to drop any hard J's.

Bad news
I'm sorry friend, but I have some bad news.  Gape Kapler is managing A-ball for the Red Sox (Greenville, is it?) so he is not in the majors anymore.  That brings the Jew-Crew down to six, I'm afraid to say...

Shawn Green...
...brings it back to seven...

Hey, uh, Brewers highers-up?
Think you can get Denis Leary and Lenny Clarke up to Milwaukee any time soon?  ;)

(Also, around September, I'm sure you can tack Craig Breslow onto the list.  Maybe Adam Greenberg, if he gets back up.)

LOL
That's a classic that I will never forget.

This is nice.
Maybe we should just tattoo numbers on their forearms so it would be easier to locate who is Jewish and who isn't.

And Fartballs can be in charge of determining what we do with the problem.

Mientkiewicz
What about Doug Mientkiewicz? I'm not sure he's Jewish or not, but he did catch the final out of the 2004 World Series and then all of a sudden claim that he "owned" the ball and refused to give-it up without a big legal fight. Does that count?

eh...
yea um.... thats kinda frowned upon...

that would be a bannable offense, no?

hey fartballs...you stink
I realize that was (hopefully) just a misguided attempt at humor, but it's insensitive and offensive.  No room for that here.

It's Mientkiewicz
Not Manischewitz.

What would you think Braun is worth right now
In fantasy ball...I put a $5 bid on him(280 salary cap) 5X5 mixed league....I need a 3B and I have Rolen at 15(i would like to cut some cash off my cap and have some money to bid on Clemens...

by gashousegang on May 25, 2007 10:53 AM EDT reply actions

I have him for $1...
...yep, I drafted him at my NL-only auction in April 2006 (three-year keeper league) and patience pays off. Next spring, I have a feeling I will be awarding Mr. Braun a long-term contract (we can award extra years for $5 per...I'm thinking $16/2010 or $21/2011).

When drafting the new contract, I would ensure that the extension includes a bonus clause for hitting "fartballs" in the head with a foul ball -- a gentle pop-up of course, but a well-deserved smack upside the head.

by Will Play Roto for Food on May 25, 2007 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions

make that LTC....
...$16/2011 or $21/2012 (even better). To answer the question above, I think he could easily earn $20 worth of stats over the remainder of this season considering he'll likely bat in a productive slot (2nd? 6th?) of what has become a very impressive lineup.

by Will Play Roto for Food on May 25, 2007 1:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Ya
I dropped Rolen and picked up Braun who should have no trouble putting up better numbers than Rolen this year.

Quick Question
Can I be in your league?  :)  That's just about the textbook definition of buying high and selling low.  Mahalo

How about Bravesin07...
...coming through with a smart move. Rolen is toast, Braun is the toast.

the question is
how much do you think he will go for in your cap leagues

He should go for...
...double digits. This guy is really special, he has absolutely 0 weaknesses as an offensive prospect.
