For fantasy guys with Lidge

He lost his closer job about 30 minutes ago. He will not even be a set-up guy for now. This is pretty early in the season to lose a job.

Since most leagues have already picked up all the fringe closers I would probably suggest to hold onto him if at all possible. Wheeler gets the closer job.

What a shame for Lidge.

I like it
for Lidge. Maybe a little while in non-pressure situations he can gain his confidence back and become the dominant player he should be.

racking my brains
are there any closers you can think of who lost it in the way that Lidge has who ever refound their touch after a demotion? i'm trying hard to think of examples, but the closest i can come to thinking of one is mark wohlers' BREIF (and not all too impressive) resurrection. other than that? i swear no one's ever gotten it back. but am i forgetting somebody?

I can't really think of anyone either
At least not anyone who was as dominant as Lidge has been. Here is hoping he bucks the trend.

cordero
francisco cordero imploded last april and lost his job. a little while after the demotion, he was pitching damn well as the setup man and then he was traded to the brewers and was very good as their closer.

Cordero was only bad for half the season
Lidge has been bad for over a year.  I think the guy if he doesn't get his control back will be out of the majors by the end of next year.

Mitch Williams
was sorta shell schoked after the WS winning homerun by Joe Carter but most of his future troubles were based on wildness.

Another guy who lost it...
Mark Wohlers- the Braves' closer.

I remember watching him hit 100mph about six or seven times in one game.  After that season, he couldn't find the strike zone anymore.

On the Astros Website
Brad Lidge is being moved out of the closer's role and being replaced by Dan Wheeler, manager Phil Garner announced on Monday. Lidge, who blew his first save opportunity on Opening Day against the Pirates, will instead pitch in earlier innings.

that was quick
one blown save...

guess he'll get it back after he pitches a couple good innings and wheeler blows one.

seems like this movie's a rerun.
