Nick Schmidt (LHP, ARK)?

So, my college has a great lefty by the name of Nick Schmidt. Right now, he's 8-1, with a 2.56 ERA and a 77/34 K/BB ratio. In his career, he's got a 311/123 K/BB ratio. Watching him, he's got a plus fastball and a plus slider (which is really his best pitch).

I don't subscribe to much of anything; can someone tell me where he is expected to go?

He has been in the 20-25 range in BA's last couple draft rankings. My college has a pretty good lefty too, Ross Detwiler. Too bad we got rocked last week by your Razorbacks, Mizzou, and Wichita State.

I hear
his fastball is more "meh" than plus.  Nice slider though

Not Bad
That's not too bad for a LHP, especially if he has at least one plus secondary pitch to go with it.  I have to admit that ever since the Giants drafted Brad Hennessey, I'm always a bit suspicious of a pitcher who's main pitch is supposed to be a slider. Still, I wouldn't kick if they made Schmidt their second pick at #22.

slider
i've always heard that his best pitch is his change up and that his slider needs work when i read scouting reports, but whenever you see a report from an arkansas fan they always talk about how great his breaking ball is.  i tend to trust the scouting reports, but i'm beginning to wonder with the number of fans i have heard say he has a great breaking ball.
