In a no-limit dynasty keeper league, would you trade Felipe Lopez for Joey Votto and Chris Volstad?

It doesn't seem fair at first, but I just took over a team which is pretty weak. I am trying to build it up through the minors. Picking up Votto and Volstad would give me a future infield of Votto, Utley, __, Gordon. not half bad..

What do people think of Votto and Volstad and their ceilings/expectations?

or two in the bush. You have to search within yourself to find the answer to that question. Some people feel more comfortable with what they have and won't let it go chasing a possibility of something better. Other people love the idea of gambling and going for the two in the bush.

Lopez is supposed to move to 2B this year isn't he? If so he's useless to you having Utley already. Votto is close and will hammer the ball in Cincy's small home park...Volstad could be great...

Votto is going to hit. throw his 2005 out the window, he had extenuating circumstances that handcuffed his bat that year. Check 2004 and 2006. If it werent for his 2005, he would be a top 15-20 prospect. Lopez does 1 thing that is good.... steals bases. Playing in Washington he is going to see his offensive number decline. After the trade to Washington he posted a .727 OPS. Even at second base, that is not very valuable. Votto wont play in Cincinnati this year unless some injuries happen at first base or some people totally flop.... but he will play next season, and he will do just fine.

As for Volstad, what is not to like?

Yes, I am the guy that actually was offering him Joey Votto for Felipe Lopez.

He then wanted Chris Volstad and Joey Votto for just Felipe Lopez and granted I said yes to it too, because I have very young starting pitching in the majors and I have Adam LaRoche in 1B and need 2B taken care of because I have only Ronnie Belliard.

And then he wanted my first round pick of 2006 draftees (1.5). This guy got too greedy in my opinion.

P.S. Never knew he actually liked this site as well. I read the post and I was like, "could have sworn I was in that same exact deal". Small world
