Gyroball stuff

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=gyroballsearch
Got this link from Baseball Prospectus (since I never head to ESPN.com anymore).  It makes for a very entertaining read about the gyroball but, more importantly, the mystique behind the gyroball.  Basically, it's a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying... nothing.

Pretty un-called for...
Some people on this site need to go back to kindergarten and learn the rule "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." This site may be dedicated to a game, but it does not mean we have to act like children.

I remembered that quote. From MacBeth. Not my favorite Shakespearean play, and I think that was the only line that ever stuck in my head. I always preferred Hamlet though whenever I did read Shakespeare back in high school. Not that he was ever on the top of my list for favorite reads.

Memorize
Wen we read Macbeth in HS, our teacher required us all to memorize that (brief) soliloquy and when we finished taking the written test, we would have to recite it for her (quietly).

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player who struts and frets his hour up upon the stage and then is heard no more.  It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Oddly enough, every classmate I've kept in touch with has remembered the entire thing.

so...
why say it
A pre-2001 comparison on what player Albert would be most similar to: Fernando Tatis.

Why
Because it's symbolic of the story in the article. The gyroball stuff had all this hype and excitement and mystery... but it was nothing.  Meaningless.
As for why quote Shakespeare... because it's Shakespeare!

nope
you do not. You can use spaces instead. Works for me.
Dukes is Jurastically better than Bradley. After all Dukes has been playing baseball ever since T-ball.

edit
If you have to edit it is a pain though since the editor chops the whitespace. You just have to add it back in.

I just type half a dozen spaces then the old ctr-c and then hold down ctr-v. Voila!

Funny article
I love the gyroball diagram in the beginning.  How naive.
