Thoughts on Fowler, Hunter, Gomez

Guys I'd like your thoughts on the following prospects

Dexter Fowler
Carlos Gomez
Cedric Hunter

Look into your resepctive crystal balls and give me your comments on which one will have the best career.

John gave all three a B rating. Each is full of potential, but there are flaws with all three.

Eh
Very hard to compare three guys who are at very different levels of development.

I'd go with Fowler, then Hunter, then Gomez.

I'd go...
Fowler, Gomez, Hunter. I just thought Hunter is really overrated because there isn't too much to be excited about to me. Gomez has more speed than fowler but I think Fowler becomes like a 20 HR, 30 SB guy which will be good. I think he is very close to lorenzo cain in terms of potential. Gomez looks like a really nice future leadoff man

gomez
idk if he is a leadoff guy. He has the speed because he will probably be the fastest man in the league. But not the plate discipline yet.

Cain
I almost included Cain (and Pedroza) in this group of toolsy guys.

Hunter: 41/25 BB/K rate and batted .364 last year. I like those numbers.

I just don't know if Gomez will grow into a power hitter, so right now I agree that Fowler is the one with the most potential.

I won't get married until the Red Sox win the World Series. AGAIN!!

D'Arby Myers
You might want to add him in there if he does good this year.  He made the all star team after being drafted and has great potential to build up he's 6'3 175 right now but he just turned 18 and will become bigger.  If he does great this year he could be a top 25 prospect.

Top 25?
That's quite a prediction. Just out of curiosity, how many guys do you think you could say that about, and where would Myers rank in terms of probability of that happening?

Hunter
His numbers are great, and I'm usually drawn to someone like him. But did no one notice the number of ridiculous offensive AZL seasons? Sulentic, Sweeney, Fonseca, Hunter, Hunt, Durango, Lefave, these guys aren't ALL that good. Maybe Hunter, Sweeney and Sulentic really are, and the others were aberrations, but come on.

spatially speaking
Gomez

Fowler

Hunter

hmm, the interface ate my returns
The point is that adjusting for ballparks Gomez is a clear favorite (to me) among those three and that the gap b/w Fowler (No. 2) and Hunter (No. 3) is even bigger than the gap b/w Gomez and Fowler.

I appreciate that
Can you further your thoughts on the "gap between" them issue? I'm really interested b/c I still think Fowler is very talented who could be a stud, but the same is true for the others.

gap
Well, I just think Hunter's performance needs to be discounted a lot for coming in a hit-happy rookie league, so his prospect status is quite aways below that of both Gomez and Fowler right now.

They are all good
They are all really good prospects.  I'd rate them:

Fowler - gets the nod because he shows improving plate discipline, power, and is a switch hitter.

Gomez - one could make a case for putting him first above Fowler.  He's about the same age, played two levels above Fowler in a more unfriendly league and park context, and raked in the 2nd half of the season.  Plate discipline and power are a bit of a concern however.

Hunter - looks like a great young hitter but he's too far away to put him above either Fowler or Gomez.

Fowler
I think Fowler has the potential to hit more than 20 homers.

I love his size (6'3"-6'4") something like that and he's a switch hitter.

I think there's a lot to like there but he still has some work to do but I think he takes a big step forward this year.
