Olivo signs with KC

The Royals signed catcher Miguel olivo today....do you think Dayton has a trade in the works that includes Buck  or do you think they are satisfied with this tandem in 08.... they are very similar players who both throw out around 34% of base stealers....and can hit for some pop...Buck does not like to walk but Olivo really does not like to walk....what do you think?

Olivio
I think Dayton signs guys that he can use..then spin off(like Dotel) at a deadline. The Royals are going in the right direction with the farm and signing some quality ML players

im kinda depressed
I wanted to see Buck play everyday and hit 30 homers.
Marcello on Tim Lincecum's 2008: "Yeah, he only pitched 180 innings last year, who knows if he can handle 200?!?!??"

While hitting .220
Yeah, that would be awesome.

And I'm being completely serious, not sarcastic.  I would love to see Buck put up a .230/.280/.475 line in 600 PAs.

I concur
Dan Uggla the catcher, with better defense.

I do not like this signing at all.

Buck may only hit 220 or 230 but if he shows the power is legit and puts up 25 HR's then I bet he gets a few more walks and gets that OBP up to 300.

Beats the hell out of Olivo's 230 average with 10 HRs.

This may be more tied to Olivo's being a better game caller and to help the pitching staff which I understand from KC perspective.

Olivo
he has hit 16 homers each of the last 2 seasons

with his SLG over those 2 years being pretty close to Buck's .429

I'm not good with park factors and such, but I would assume that with Olivo leaving Dolphin Stadium, this will only help his SLG

(no argument on the lack of walking though...)
