what's the one move (realistically) that you're team could make tomorrow for you to have a mlb merry christmas?

i want the rumors of roberts and bedard to the cubs to happen. i think with az's new front two of webb and haren, and the starting front two of anyone that gets santana, we need another front line guy.

and now that fukudome is in the fold, one more on-base kind of guy to fill out the lineup would be perfect.

is just not realistic to me. I didn't see anything on Bedard to the Cubs. I saw Rich Hill pop up in talks for Roberts alone. The Cubs don't really have a whole lot else to give in my eyes.

Carlos Gonzalez--I liked him better when it was Gonzales.

That's generally my thought as well. I saw a post about two weeks ago were a Cubs fan on this board said that they should acquire Bedard AND Roberts without giving up Hill or Pie? WTF? Murton isn't nearly good enough to build a package around. Corner OF is one of the few spots were the O's have viable in house options.

what i heard around here was...

that the orioles wanted to expand the talks to include both. sean gallagher was among the pitchers i heard were in the deal, along with rich hill. mcphail drafted gallagher and still loves him, from what i hear. also included was eric patterson.

i'm sure there were other pieces...there would have to be...but that's what was being mentioned here in chicago.

Brian Roberts is simply not worth

Rich Hill, if they asked for Hill I would cackle with laughter.

I might give them something like Marshall Patterson and a lower prospect.

Brian Roberts isn't that special of a player. That said, The Cubs have Felix Pie, and Sean Gallagher both of which should be above average ballplayers. Gallagher especially, he's got great stuff.. front end of the rotation stuff. He's just turned 22.. and looks to be real.

I'm no GM but I would only include Gallagher if I were getting a front of the rotation type back like Bedard.

Yesterday I got my Christmas present

Josh Hamilton made my Christmas complete.

If I had to ask for another present it would probably be trading Catalanotto and Laird either in seperate deals or together for whatever prospects the Rangers could get.

So we can have Mike Rivera, Vinny Rotino, or Miguel Olivo be our full-time catcher? No thanks - Kendall won't set the world on fire, but in Miller Park I think he'll revert back to NL-average form.

My gift would be Hank Blalock to man 3B, Ryan Braun to LF - and I'd be willing to give up Capuano, TGJ and prospect Mat Gamel to get it done.
