Koby Clemens moving to Catcher

He sneaked into the Astros top 20 as a 3B, but know it is reported he is moving to Catcher.  His body type always fit that more to me.  Likely, it means Max Sapp will be moving to 1b as well.

I wouldn't probably be posting, nor would we know about if if he wasn't Roger's son.

ouch
seriously though, the bloodline thing does have some merits. Chris / Shelley Duncan both turned out to be something for example

Wasn't Koby drafted as a Catcher?
I thought that one of the rumors were Clemes was going to sign with Houston, so he could pitch to his son?

Sapp to 1B?
Not necessarily.  The Astros have lost a lot of catching depth this off-season.  Off the top of my head, they've lost Munson, Gimenez, and Henriquez (plus lost Chavez earlier this year).  If Clemens can turn become adequate defensively, this could be a good move for his career.  His body type and bat didn't project too well for 3rd, anyways.

On Sapp, the club may repeat him at Lexington.  He could be promoted, but it wouldn't hurt his development if he at least started the season back at Low-A.

Clemens, I don't know where they would start him.  He played well enough at Lexington that he could be promoted as a 3B, though he wasn't a lock.  But, trying to transition him to catcher at High-A would likely be a disaster.  Instructional with a promotion later?

hmmmm.
maybe he has rhinoceros legs like his dad and they are more conducive to the catching position.
it doesn't matter anyway, i don't see this kid as a major leaguer, or even a AAA player.
