a couple questions
Is he basically a noone at this point?
I know he was an awesome basketball player but how could he be such a huge "miss" and "miss" so quickly after being drafted?
And i realize Duncan is still young but does it appear to anyone that he will ever develop?

well
As for Eric Duncan, i think he still has a chance, unlike CJ Henry, he's lines havn't been without at least some silver lining (pretty strong walk rate. occasional dominance ) but again he's been slipping far and the Yankees have a lot of risers in their system. so it's quiet understandable that he's pushed far off. though how far off will depend on who's looking.

re: henry
also on duncan, he has potential and somewhat young for AAA. but he will likely be taken in the rule 5, and, and some players (like another Duncan, Shelley) are late-bloomers. He should be a solid major-leaguer by his age 24 season.

Montero

he should start at GCL
he didn't start well at GCL because of his ankle injury and its best to know if your next big masher can handle gcl before moving him forward.
its more precautionary than anything.

I think
after the top 5 it's a crap shoot for the most part and you went ceiling first approach, but there's a few guys i disagree with a little more than the others.
a. Daniel McCutch: is his ceiling really that high?
b. Eric Duncan: at this point it's hard not to get taken back but the (lack of) results and bad health.

Why's McCutchen that high?
I'd put Marquez, Garcia, and Gardner a lot higher. It's such a deep system though, no one really agrees after the obvious top 5.

re: mccutchen
-marquez: never been high on him. doesnt have enough groundballs to coincide with paltry strikeout rates. if you believe my comparison...is carlos silva that good?
-garcia: if this would be pure talent and potential, he'd be up there. he has great stuff. but he was injured this year and seemingly always has been. and he didnt exactly post a sub-3 ERA or something in 2006 before getting injured, either. besides, he has only gotten as far as tampa
-gardner: on the same boat as melky--fringe starter/4th OF. no power. great discipline, godly speed, yes, but he didnt exactly tear up the minors in batting avg. either

Some observations
-There is no chance whatsoever Montero starts in the GCL. He came on as the year progressed, raked in the postseason (SSS) and has raked in winter ball. The organization is also enamored with the offensive and defensive progress he makes. I see .1% chance he isn't starting at C for Charleston next year.
