Rays OF Prospects

We spend most of our time talking about the uber prospects and the Rays system is loaded with them.  I am curious about some lesser prospects in their system: Justin Ruggiano, Jason Pridie, and Fernando Perez.

What are their grades and scouting reports?

Where do they fit into the Rays plans?

What would be a fair trade for each? Being a Twins fan, I would appreciate if you use the Twins for context.

I like them all, and was hoping the Twins could swing a trade for Perez to fill their CF vacancy.

I like Fernando Perez the best of three - see him as an above average starter in CF, and Pridie and Ruggiano I see as 4th OF types who wouldn't hurt you  as starters.

trade bait
or I would hope that for all 3. BJ & Delmon are locked in, they have an option on Crawford for next 2 seasons, most likely he'll be dealt after next season or right at deadline in '09. By then Desmond Jennings should be ready to take over.

Perez and Pridie both made the 40-man. I think Perez is definitely the most useful of the bunch; solid D, he can talk a walk, not much in power but he gets on base at a decent clip. Ruggiano K's a ton, and his peripherals don't show enough to offset it. Pridie has played well lately in AAA stint, but oddly not much before that; he's OK defensively, but as mentioned above he is a 4th OF at best. I think all 3 of them are already at 24/25 yrs old, none appear to be future stars. I don't know much about Royster except he has lots of power and a way high K rate to match.

As a Rays fan the glaring weakness is bullpen; I'd like to see them move one or two of these guys for help there (Morlan but prob. no chance w/him, Sosa, Bromberg), somebody - help ....

I was hoping
the Twins could get Perez for someone like Eduardo Morlan.  Anyway, that's the general range.

only 19 seconds apart
kool - isn't Morlan the heir apparent to Nathan? Or I guess Neshek is a better fit there. I think Morlan is way more valuable than any of these OFs but who knows what some GMs think anymore. As a Rays fan I'd be ecstatic w/ any trade of these OFs for him.
