Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Suggestion for John

If it's possible, perhaps you might want to find 1-2 dependable, rational posters to the forums who could serve as admins on the diaries to lock or delete posts such as the one just made by MasonDMB.
Policing the diaries to keep out the trash that you've specifically asked people not to post isn't something you should have to do and I'm sue you could find some eager volunteers.

hahaha
Couldn't agree more with LtMelmo. Who cares!? Its the internet the stupid arguments are going to happen but no one is going to die because of it. John is the sole bread winner because of this site and he should be the only one making decisions.

see your point
but honestly, John has a life too.  I'm sure he'd rather have to not take out the metaphorical trash on the site if there were someone dependable to do it for him.  That being said, I 'd leave the job to someone else, but I' sure there are some posters here who are good moderator material and willing and able to help out
Hey fish, leave those kids alone!

Ha!
By no means do I want to admin the diaries. Even if I wanted to, I think there'd be a rebellion if I was, I'm not a popular chap around here, especially among the regulars.
But, someone like indiansfan or some of the more levelheaded regulars seems to me to be a good idea.
John doesn't want certain stuff posted here, that's his prerogative. I myself have recruited several good GM's from here in the past so this isn't a good rule for me, but I respet it and respect his wishes. I also suspect he doesn't want to have to police the board over it.

Thanks for the compliment! :-)
Hello CrimsonLiederhosen,

Thanks for the compliment - greatly appreciated!  :-)

I've been busier than usual, so I haven't been able to come around as much, though I'd be open to the idea if John wants to do it.

I think though that more than one moderator might be the best approach, just in case moderators are not here everyday, or not here for very long each day, just to make sure nothing gets overlooked.  Of course, this would be subject to John's approval.

Just my 2 cents.

Again, I appreciate the compliment.  :-)

Take care and have a great day!

Posted this on the No More Fantasy Want Ads thread
But John, what about one "Daily Fantasy/Sim Thread" per day? Like the daily minor league report during the summer. ... Everyone could post their fantasy questions and want ads there, no one would feel like they're piggybacking on someone else's ad, and it would leave the majority of the board for other purposes. It would become a destination thread for fantasy players, and I'm guessing you'd see dozens of responses a day.

This seems like a nice win-win idea
