2008 Prospect Breakdown Vol. 1 -Snider/Gio/Beau

Lets see if this sparks a good discussion. Discuss the level of performance, speed of progression through the system, and any relevant factor that you feel is important for 2008 for:  Travis Snider, Gio Gonzalez, and Beau Mills.

Star-divide

Thanks.

my take
Snider:  Jay Bruce type run in 08 as he becomes a top 10 prospect.
Mills: Will make it to at least AA, will be a top 30 prospect.
Gio: Starts in AAA, but gets called up to the majors in June.

Mine
Gio - Starts in AAA, makes the majors in May, and had a decent but unspectacular year - flashing some signs of a breakout but struggles a little with the control once he is promoted.

Mills - Really breaks out, and has an Evan Longoria-type year - flashing both plus plus power, and good contact and walk rates.

Snider - Gets a case of Billy Butler syndrome.  Everyone thinks of him as a great hitter, but he rarely gets ranked above #20 in prospect rankings because everyone is afraid that he might not find a good spot in the field to play defensively.

these are mine
Snider: Ive been saying it all along, jay Bruce of 08, will put up huge power numbers and hit very well for average, kid is a beast!

Gio: AAA, will be a top 20 prospect if he is still elligible at the end of 08

Mills; Dont know much about him

snider in the afl so far
He went 3-4 tonight with his 2nd homer. In 41 AB's he has 16 hits: 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers with 13 runs scored and is up to .390 in 11 games. Just loving it.
