Ryan Church coming into this year expected to be a starter in the OF for the Nationals. He lost the job in spring training. Came up to the majors later even though he wasn't hitting minor leaguers well. And then catch fire for a week....and then falls apart. Overall his season was below expectation.
But his overall line of .266/.369/.503 has been an inprovement over last year's .287/.353/.466 even though it's a smaller sample size. His proness to breaking pitches will always been his downfall and a stay at the Mexican league can't really help that much for a 28 years old.
Kubel had a horrible knee injury last year. Prior to that he was a top rated prospect. He wasn't expected to do all that well this year but showed sign of brilliance earlier in the year. But has failed mightily afterward. Again, he wasn't expected to do much this year and his number at AAA has been acceptable. Though his strike-zone judgement has suffered.
What do you guys think will happen to those 2 in the future. How about 2007? Upside vs. Downside? Fill me in
Thanks
