Rockies call up Tulowitzki

http://www.denverpost.com/rockies/ci_4259048

Sounds like he'll be starting...

At 10:42 p.m., manager Clint Hurdle reached his flash point. Furious with his team's offensive maladies, his patience expired, he announced that Double-A super-prospect Troy Tulowitzki would be arriving today and that Luis Gonzalez was heading back to the minors. Left unsaid was that Clint Barmes, the Rockies' shortstop since August 2004, would be benched.

The Rockies had planned to keep Tulowitzki with the Tulsa Drillers during the Double-A playoffs. But two weeks ago the pendulum began to swing as Barmes slumped and Tulowitzki remained hot. Only 21, Tulowitzki hit .291 with 13 home runs and 61 RBIs in 104 games.

Tulowitzki
As a Tulowitzki owner in a dynasty league this makes me very excited also the fact that hes joining my ss group that already includes Jose Reyes and Stephen Drew. Welcome to the show kid!

So
I'm guessing the Tulowitzki era in Colorado has begun?  Some more minor league time couldn't have hurt, but he looks like he could be ok right now.

Rox
I think a case could be made that the Rockies young talent at the major league level is as good as any in the NL West.  Colorado now has good young players contractually under control at C Ianetta, SS Tulowitzki, 3B Atkins, LF Holliday, RF Hawpe and SP's Jennings, Cook and Francis.  Even Fuentes is still under team control, yes?

In general, the ceilings of these guys may not be as high as some LA or SD prospects, but this group is producing.  This is a good core of talent that could be pretty competitive if the Rockies fill in holes around them.

Small number, but he is striking out...
I know I know, its a small number, but Tulowitzki is 1 for 8, striking out 5 times!!!   Is this just an adjustment waiting to happen?  I was hoping he would come out like Delmon, but he didnt.
