Looks like they just optioned Sampson back to AAA.  Stay tuned.  

Has to do with after 2 years or 3 years he would be first eligible for arbitration. A certian percent of players become what is called "super two's" (I think 17 percent) Those are the 17 percent with at least 2 years but not 3 years of eligibility.
Moving into Arbitration early is great for players bad for teams. When last collective bargining agreement was signed owner wanted to, but of course failed, to eliminate the "Super 2's
