NDRO New World Order

Ouch. This is the article in response to DYoung-Upton-Duke's spouting off to USA Today on Thursday ... and here I thought Upton would be getting a full time job in the next week in TB ...

http://sports.tbo.com/sports/MGBPZ5UF7QE.html

Who is still arguing that keeping these guys in AAA (or getting them there so quickly) isn't affecting there development/careers? This is going to get uglier through the years (esp for Delmon) ...

The NDRO
has no one to blame but themselves. When you draft nothing but elite hitters, you have to expect that you're going to have difficulty juggling ABs for them that furthers their development.  And they are even talking about signing Lugo to a long-term deal (though it may be bluffing to increase the cost-in-trade to a team like the BJs who have interest).  Guys like Young and Dukes and Upton are supposedly historically good hitting prospects. You either trade them for pitching or you do something else creative, but they are not getting any ROI on these guys and it further makes the case that the DRays are the true laughing-stock franchise in baseball.

I support those 3 guys 100% in this. It's ridiculous.  No one thought of Young as some problem child before this year-- which corresponds to when he had the expectation that he would get called up.  I think all 3 should act like a union and make demands that they be called up or traded.

3 Babies
I want to know which one thought that speaking publicly would get them a call up?  I am going to say DUKES! hahahah.   Usually when you talk to a coach behind closed doors, you are seen as more respectful then calling them out and complaining in the paper.
Just add this to yet another dumb move by these guys.

Why Dukes?
Dukes isn't the one with a history of popping off to the press, Delmon is.  He always seems to be running his mouth off, from day one when he was drafted and said he'd be ready for the majors that season.
God rested one day out of 7, Felix rests 4 out of 5.

No one to blame but themselves...
No... not the D-Rays. These three Sense of Entitlement Players.

Upton wants to make the Show? Learn to throw the damn ball to 1st Base and quit driving drunk!

Dukes wants to make the Show? Quit picking fights with teammates!

Young wants to make the Show? Don't throw bats and completely disgrace your franchise!

Today's players seem to think they are bigger than the team or the game. They get drafted #1 overall as eighteen-year-old-think-they-know-everything-but-dont-know-shit punks and are given a huge paycheck just for signing. They think they can have major flaws in their game, but still deserve to make it to the Major League roster. Bullshit. You earn a shot in the majors. It is not just bestowed upon you.

They are disgracing the hand that feeds them right now. The Devil Rays have given these kids the world, made them millionaires, and all they ask is for these kids to shut up and continue progressing so the relationship can become mutually beneficial. Instead, Dukes and Young seem to have gotten worse mentally, and Upton's defense hasnt progressed a bit.

And an earlier comment said that there was never any indication that Young was a problem child before. Yes there was. A poster here about a year or 18 months ago said that Young was a problem. A spoiled kid. He knew from personal experience because, if I remember correctly, he worked for a news station or newspaper in like Alabama. Everyone called him a liar. Vindication is his now.

yes
As appalling as their comments are, it's equally appalling to hear people blame these guys' idiotic comments on the DRO. Sure, the organization has done some dumb things...but place the onus for these comments on the morons themselves. They have no right to say the things they did. They think they run the organization.
