When was the last time a guy hitting .301/.342/.480 or anything like that was DFA'd? This seems like a rather bizarre move by the Blue Jays even if they absolutely hated the guy, and I'd love to hear more on the matter from Jays fans. Did Hillenbrand hit his head on something or is the front office of this organization really as messed up as he seems to claim it is?
Furthermore, now that he's been DFA'd, a trade would seem to be in the near future . . .but who's going to grab him? I have to think there's a lot of teams who would love to find a place for his offensive contributions.
