Wake up call

Looks like Oliver Perez might have figured out his problem rather quickly after his recent demotion to AAA. His first start with Indy looked like this 7IP 5H 2ER 2BB 13K's. He took the tough luck loss (nothing new to him), but the 13 strike outs was and Indy stadium record. The 2 runs came on a homer in the 7th by 4A player Ryan Ludwick. Hopefully Oliver's trip to Indy will be short lived, a couple more of these starts and you'll be back to the last place Pirates!

just wait
next start he will give up 7 runs in 3 innings, thats his problem about as reliable as a pinto.

I think his shoulder must be junk he has lost so much velocity, something is definately up in there.

Honestly...
Perez going down and dominating AAA hitters doesn't really impress me that much. Even if he does it a couple of times in a row, it wouldn't convince me that he's fixed. I would much rather see him face MLb caliber hitters and get them out. I wish they had actually gone through with the Perez-in-the-bullpen plan, as long as they didn't turn him into Ryan "White Flag" Vogelsong, only using him as a blowout pitcher.

I agree about AAA
Has anyone seen what Rich Hill has done back in AAA?  Just because a guy gets 13 k's really means nothing.  He could even come back up for his next start and get 13 k's but until he does anything on a consistent basis - it is meaningless.
