Future Call-up's

please list some future call up's either mid season or September for your teams.

i am mainly interested in knowing if either Hughes or Bailey will get a cup of coffee this year or not. with Pelfrey up just wanted to get some insight as to if there's a chance either will get a shot this year or not to see what they can do for the big club next year.

anyone else have any more predictions for any call-up's this year?

Angels
Depending on how well AK is playing, i expect to see Howie Kendrick in September.
A pipeline of talent, welcome to Anaheim.

Kendrick
Is back up now, though who knows for how long.  The Angels just put Escobar on the DL.

Bailey wont be up
Wayne Krivsky has stated sevral times that Homer Bailey will not be promoted again this year.

yup...
the bad news is he said he would be part of his next trade. He also said don't expect to get as much as last time. You fans have it too good.

Hughes
Cashman is on record saying Hughes will not see the majors this year, period.

Devil Rays
Delmon Young and possibly Elijah Dukes will get September callups.

It sounds like BJ Upton will be up before the end of the month.

Jason Hammel, Shawn Riggans, Juan Salas and Jeff Ridgeway are all also likely September callups.  If Lugo is traded, Zobrist will probably be up as well.

Well....
Nice to see that the Rays FO is finally going to stop forcing their top players to eat at the same Durham restaurants that they got tired of two years ago....

all will see the majors this year
Drew
Upton

Wood?
Brandon Wood shouldn't see the majors this year.. unless the Angels are out of the playoff race in September or they decide to move him to 3B.

Orlando Cabrera is having a great season at SS.

Rays in '08....

Quentin will be up
Quentin will be up also, September at the latest, August if the Diamondbacks find a taker for Gonzo and he waives his no-trade clause.

Garza
I can't imagine that the Twins will have promoted Garza to AAA yet not bring him up in September.

by Galt on Jul 14, 2006 4:15 PM EDT reply actions

Garza
I think there is almost zero chance of him being called up to the major leagues. Terry Ryan has said repeatedly that it wasn't going to happen and they don't need to add Garza to the roster after this season.  The Twins would really need to see him helping them this year. And, in that case, they are more likely to look at the trade market for help. There are guys ahead of him, including Bonser and Baker if they don't make a trade.

I like the Joe Saunders call
Underrated prospect really.  Very good GB/FB and a healthy strikeout rate augments his good control.

May be sooner than we think
With Kelvim Escobar going on the DL today, the Angels may end up bringing Saunders up sooner rather than later. Carrasco may get the spot start, but if Escobar is out for an extended period, they may decide to give the kid another chance.

this is semi-related
I feel its time for Butler and Gordon to move to AAA.  Both are dominating AA and really have nothing left to prove.
