John's Draft Board
John's Draft Board
This is NOT a prediction, this is my personal draft board for the first round. Note that I am an amateur at this, an informed one perhaps, but I've never had any actual scouting training. But this is how I will rank guys going into my real-time Twins Shadow Draft on Tuesday. This is based on scouting reports, video, personal observation of a few of these guys, conversation with people who know a lot more than I do, and intuition.

John
Anyways....
I like your picks for us.
Brett Anderson fits our system, lefty i believe, with great control, could move fairly quickly for a highschool through the system. Twins love those control guys. Sounds like he has a good pedigree. Sure the twins might have enough southpaws, but heck...
Snider- I like it, he could be ready maybe by the time we get a new stadium in 2010. We need a big time power hitter, whether that be a DH or outfielder doesn't matter, we just need a bat.
I could see us looking at a conger or sapp, as insurance on Mauer or potential DH type guy.
They had a lot of success imo, with garza/slowey last year, so they might be thinking College pitcher again is what I'm thinking, I dunno.
Anderson and Snider and Rowewell...I think one will be a twin.
also John....
5"10 185 pretty small for a outfielder, projects to have limited power, good speed, compared to J.Jones a former twin, now cubby.
Also he's a lefty, and seriously how many lefties do the twins need.....
mauer, morneau, kubel, moses is a lefty......time to get some righties in this lineup, dont ya think!

Kiker
Any reason for leaving him off; how close was he to making your list?

kiker
Marrero dropped because he has a hard time with breaking balls.

Matt LaPorta is also a Boras client
John's list for the Twins @ 20
Snider will not be there...
Padres were looking at Conger @ 17, but he's caught a bit of helium in the last 48 hours (private workouts, etc.) possibly at the expense of the Snider. The Padres had crossed Snider off their list (because they thought Snider would be gone). Now the Padres are deciding between Snider, McColloch, and another undiscloseed collegiate pitcher...
lars anderson
John's playing "shawdow"
John is a big Lars fan and would possilibly take Lars with the 20th pick instead of whomever the Twins do take.
Chris Marrero?

Marrero
He has had recurring hammy problems.
As well as questions about inconsistency.
