Is Delmon Young the only prospect out there?

I am curious about what ya'll think about Sean Marshall.  Will he stick with the Cubbies when Prior, Wood, and Miller return?  Will he be successful longterm?

Here are his minor league stats, courtesy of the Baseball Cube:
http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/M/sean-marshall.shtml

The 6'5" ,23 yo lefty has 251 minor league IP with 258 K and 70 BB.

Currently, in 21 IP over 4 games, he has 15 K to 7 BB with starts against StL, PIT(W), LA, and FLA(W).

BP has him as the 5th luckiest SP in the NL, behind Batista, Wandy, Pedro (!), and Madson.

Is he on Delmon Young's team?

I've heard
I vaguely remember a prospect named Elijah Dukes. Wait...isn't he Delmon Young's roommate?

I thought it was Delmon Dukes? I'm so confused.

It is crazy how Delmon has taken over all threads. Where are the Met fans bringing up milledge vs Young? I guess at this point I would rather have Milledge. :)

or
or was it Elijah Young? Upton Young?

Hey, I'd still take Delmon off the DRays hands, just as I would have taken Albert Belle in a heart-beat. I still say D-Young becomes the next Belle. Everyone cries "plate discipline" with Young and say that Albert Belle's was much better, then again, at the same age, Belle was playing at LSU while Delmon is in AAA. Can you imagine what Delmon's #s would be in college baseball? He'd hit .500 with 40 homers and 40 steals.

yeah, with everyone talking about delmon young
you'd think there'd be a video circulating of him throwing his bat at an umpire or something . . .

I like Marshall
But i don't see him sticking, which will help him long term. . .The talent they have on the DL is huge, so he will have to be bumped from the rotation. . .

. . . how come there has to be 30 different delmon diaries?  can't it be summed up in one?

once they get to be 50+ posts
it's simpler to start a new one than wade through the pages and pages of one of the old ones.

But then
How will we manage to find all the keeper fantasy league diaries?  ;)

Yes and No...
Yes, I have Sean on my keeper team, but No that is not the only reason I asked this question...

He had never pitched past AA yet leaped over Guzman, Kyu, and Hill who had been up last year.  I should have explicitly stated this and asked if this was a sign of confidence and a new pecking order or if the Cubs did not want to derail the development of others being pushing them.

well,
if all of prior, wood and miller return, then no, he's not going to stick, because that would mean him sticking over zambrano or maddux.  ha.

but it's really not that difficult to imagine a world in which those three guys are never all active at the same time.  and at this rate i have to think he's preferable to rusch.  so in that case, i think it could happen.  if he keeps pitching reasonably well.

KERRY WOOD IS A CLOSER!!!
Actually, if Marshall sticks it won't be at the expense of Zambo or Maddux, it will be at the expense of Miller or Wood.  Should Marshall continue to pitch well and win games, I do not think it is too far fetched to see Kerry Wood begin his bullpen conversion.  As much as I've always liked Wade Miller, I'm not certain that he will ever be an effective starter again.  I honestly believe that there is a scenerio where Marshall will stick even if all 3 Cubs righties return.  I think with the proper training routine that Kerry Wood could develop into an impact bullpen arm (eventually a closer.  I know Dempster has been effective, but I would have trouble believing that Wood couldn't be a better closer.

Ramblings... tasty...
