After two weeks and very strange happenings Taylor Buchholz got his first ML start. Overall it was a good start with very few bad pitches. The only hits he gave up were homeruns(2). Two fastballs that were thrown over and crushed. He looked great most of the time but if you were watching the game you could really see how excited he was. I think he will do better if he can maintain his emotions in the future.

That is the totals then strikes and balls.
His fastball did not drop that much. In the first he was throwing 94-96. In the sixth he was throwing 92-94. He touched 98 one time in the fourth and is capable of dialing up his fastball to 95-96 for one pitch in any inning in a big count(for the record Bush was at 89-91 all night and Capellan was at 93-96 so if that sounds right for them then the gun was on). As you can see he worked FB CB all game and showed his slider and change a few times.
The only two balls that wer pulled or hit hard were the two homers. Once again most of the batters were very late and there were tons of foul tips on really bad/late swings. I think he can come in and really have a great year right now. I don't see him ever playing a game in the minors again unless he gets hurt or goes crazy.
GO GO BUCHHOLZ!!!
