I read he's not going to start anymore - what does that do to his keeper status if I have him for $5?

Even if he were playing everyday, I'd be weary of having him on my team. His wonderfully productive 2003 season appears to be an aberration and he's not really all that young anymore (25). Although he may substantially improve, not enough indicators exist to put much faith in its occurrence. So to answer your question, I'd only consider him as a bench option in a rather deep league.

I don't have much faith in him to be honest. He remains useful to the Blue Jays thanks to his defensive potential, but his bat is weak, and certainly not very useful in a fantasy league.
