Continued improvement, but not an ace yet - he'll go through one 5-6 game stretch that will temper his other numbers...

Due an injury
That bulk has to affect his mechanics, so I'm predicting an injury and a dip in form. Good enough to rebound - if healthy in 07

Sabathia projection
CC has only passed 200 IP once, so Cleveland will continue to protect his arm somewhat.  I do expect some missed starts though.  I am also a little concerned about the CLE defense, but CC has always had fairly high BA BIP and done well.

CC's has also never been great at keeping the ball on the ground until last year's 1.55 G/F ratio, which may be a freak occurrence.  Despite the fly balls, CC has not given up too many home runs, but last year he allowed 10.2% of all fly balls allowed to go for home runs, which is a higher rate than his previous levels (around 8.5%).  If he returns back to his normal almost 1.1 ratio but the flyballs keep leaving the yard at last year's levels, then expect his HR/9 to increase and the ERA to struggle a bit.  (I personally don't anticipate it, but it's worth mentioning.)

Projection:
31 GS
196 1/3 IP (Avg of 6 1/3 per start)
13 W
11 L
4.00 ERA
159 K
68 BB
184 Hits
21 HR Allowed (added based on my comments above)

It's pretty good . . .
C.C. Sabathia:

GS: 32
IP: 199
W:18
L: 8
ERA: 3.47
K: 167
BB: 61
H: 189

I'd like to give him more innings because he seems to be set to take over Livan Hernandez's spot in the league (with better stuff), but we'll see . . .

My thoughts!
Hello everyone,

GS 32
IP 202
18 W
 8 L
3.60 ERA
175 K
75 BB
185 H

I believe his last two-month stretch where he went 10-1 will enable him to improve by a good margin in 2006 and beyond.

Just my 2 cents. :-)

Take care and have a great day!
