Finally got my baseball fix!!!!

Last night went to USC at Long Beach State in what turned out to be Fog Bowl II.  Was a pretty stellar pitching matchup, with SC's Ian Kennedy facing Jared Hughes.  I had to leave early b/c I had my 6 month old daughter, but saw the two future first rounders settle into a pitchers duel.  Kennedy was definately the more polished of the two, working primarily off of a fastball and changeup, and working in a curve.  He seemed to be able to reach back for an extra 3-4 MPH on the fastball when he needed a strikeout.  Hughes started out slow, giving up 2 runs in the first, but they came on a couple of walks and just one hit.  He was consistantly leaving the ball up in the zone early in the game, but settled down after the first inning.  Hughes was primarily working off his fastball, which seemed a little harder than Kennedy's.

The weather was conducive to a pitchers duel, probably in the 40's and extremely foggy.  I guess after I left, the fog rolled in more, and Long Beach hit a few balls that couldnt be caught, and they ended up leading to a Long Beach 4-2 victory.  Was very impressed with Kennedy, and Hughes definately showed promise.  there are a couple of pictures below.
