2004 first-round pick Mark Rogers is expected to undergo surgery due to continued soreness in his shoulder.
"He's going to get a second opinion but it's looking surgical," assistant GM Gord Ash. "His shoulder bothered him toward the end of the season and he's still experiencing some pain." Rogers has a tremendous arm, but it's yet to amount to much success on the mound. If he's found to have significant damage within the shoulder, he'll become a long shot to turn into a major leaguer.
