Nelson Cruz

I'm a Ranger fan, and I'm really not sure what to expect from Cruz.
I know that a lot of people on this site know some crazy stats and are pretty good at figuring out what a player can do. So I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think about him.

Interesting Question

Cruz has posted solid #'s his past 2 seasons in AA/AAA and AAA. However, it never really got him a chance in the big leagues.

I've seen MLE's which say he should be about .260/.340/.455

He got 130 AB with the Rangers. I didn't think he performed too well. However, he did hit some Hr's. Big league are about making adjustments. If he's a worker he should be ok.

I'll toss out a few scenarios.

Bad Case

.230/.260/.388

Best Case

.280/.350/.475

My actual prediction
.255/.330/.435 I think he'll hit 20 Hr's. He should play a solid corner OF.

I agree with that. He'll never hit for a high average but could hit 25-30 in his career.

other diaries

there are a couple other recent diaries which talk about Nelson, if you use the search function you probably could find some better information then what's up so far. I know that the power sleepers part I diary had some comments about Mr. Cruz.
