Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

John has posted 1679 times

I was curious about Minor League Ball, so I checked back to see when it started and it looks like John posted his first test post on 02/09/2005 and has had a total of 1679 posts since then (not including diaries).  Way to go John!

Further curiosity made me check to see when I first joined.  My first comment was posted on 02/18/2005, so it looks like I actually joined within the first week of the site! Way to go, me! ;)

I was wondering how many other 'old' timers there are who joined up within the first few weeks.  Anyone?

2.27.05 but that's just when an Astros diary came up. And btw, can we please see another picture of their new CF Brooke Burke?!
I was an original transfer from espn.com, which not coincidentally, I never go to anymore.

This is

1st was 2/12/06.  Was here the 1st or 2nd day.  Another one that followed from ESPN/Down on the Farm and I too rarely go there anymore.  ESPN used to be my homepage.  The only time I go there now is for the MLB stats page, which is still pretty good.  Overall, that site has really gone to hell.

First post 02/21/2005.  Great site.  One of 3 I visit every day, sfgiants.com, mccoveychronicles.com and this site.

Don't have the volume of posts that you guys have, but I've been a faithful reader of the sight.  After the demise of Down on the Farm I also stopped going to ESPN.com except on very rare occassions.  This is probably in the Top 3 of sites most visited by me. Love it.  This is mostly due to John, but also in large part to the great community of baseball fans we have here.

I'm pretty sure...
I was around very early, like the first couple weeks also.

I just have no idea how you guys went to find out.

Just click on 'search'
then pull down 'diaries by' and then enter your username.

Wow...
my first diary was the 2/13/05.

My first post was the 12th.

I haven't even hit 1,000 posts yet though. I'm 19 away.

Funny part
Is that the first post had to do with Reid Brignac, and about half of the thread was stuff like "Who is that guy - is he worth drafting in a keeper league?"

Only about 190 posts.  That whole work thing gets in the way.

A mere 703 posts, though that dwarfs by a long shot my postings at any other site, mostly liberal blogs. Actually, that probably dwarfs my postings at all other sites combined. I guess that makes prospecting far more interesting than politicking these days.

And yet he owns jsut two pair of underwear
Amazing!

Just kidding. I'm at 339. Not exactly Hall Of Fame worthy, but certainly should qualify me as a household name throughout my playing career.

I got a new job a couple months later, so this is only post 682. It looks like I was there in the first week.

Just watched....
the first few months, but I have been reading here the entire time the site has been up. Followed John from Down on the Farm at ESPN too. I didn't actually join until June though, and I only have about 340 posts. Started very few diaries.

This site, Myspace, and ESPN are still the three sites I visit the most.
