26 Andy Marte, 3b

My ranking for the best players remaining, taking into consideration the probability of their playing in 2006, are:
- Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
- Nick Markakis, OF
- Daric Barton, 1B
- Jarrod Saltalamaccia, C
- Joel Guzman, SS/1B (?)
- Dustin Pedroia, SS
Is my ranking out of whack? I only ranked Gonzalez so highly because it appears that he'll have significant playing time at 1B in San Diego. Correct or valid assumption?
Your thoughts and comments were very helpful earlier and greatly appreciated.

Not sure about Adrian
Gonzo
Justin Upton has signed and I am pretty shocked no one has drafted him yet. He would immediately move to the top of my draft list.
I am not convinced that Daric Barton will be a big-time fantasy 1b, until he develops more power.
From your current list, I would probably take Guzman or Salty...
Upton
Thanks for the comment, I ws leary about selecting Gonzalez and would prefer either Guzman or salty or markakis. A significant consideration is whether they can get MLB playing time in 2006. Salty won't I know and the others may be questionable although Markakis would appear to have a good chance.
My other option is to draft a MLB ready RP like Hansen, Cabrera or Broxton.

"A significant consideration is whether they can get MLB playing time in 2006."
I would rather eat a cowpie than take Adrian Gonzalez over the Salty Dog. Atleast once I ate it it would be over with. You'd have to see Salty (and Barton for that matter) raking for years while you have A-Gonz.

Jenks
I realize that people want immediate returns, but with so many great hitting prospects still on the board, I don't get it.
I imagine he's available...
HAHA
I thought the same thing

I don't know the point system ...
Russell Martin - not the upside of Salty, but has mastered AA ball.
Felix Pie - should be a good "fantasy" player.
Pedroia - won't be as good at "fantasy" as in real life, but should still be plenty good.
Troy Tulowitzki - Maybe a reach, but "hitter" and "Colorado" go together well.
Ryan Shealy - ditto, although obviously he has a PT issue, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him moved.
Adam Jones and Marcus Sanders - if this is a roto-style league, these guys are fast, and can get on base.
Personally, I'd put Barton atop the heap now, even if he isn't likely to play MLB in 2006.
