Rangers wanted Rich Hill, Felix Pie

So, you're Jim Hendry.  He asks John Hart (is that the Rangers GM) for Alfonso Soriano, and Hart's reply is give me Hill and Pie.  Do you do it?

Rich Hill has been solid so far in his major league experience, with a QS yesterday against the DBacks.

For what it's worth, Hendry's response was laughter and a phone click.

What do you think?

Re: texas demands
I wouldn't balk at dealing Rich Hill and a another lesser or equal prospect for Soriano - but not a top 20 in all the minors stud like Pie. If you're willing to consider Texas demands you ought to just pony up a little more and get a superior player like Dunn.

Soriano not all he is cracked up to be
While many have made big deal of OBP and other non-highlight stats that help win games (bunting, making contact, etc) - Soriano is a poster child for all or nothing.  The only difference between Soriano and Corey Patterson is that Patterson never had a 40 HR season to give him a free pass for otherwise terrible hitting.  If memory serves me, Soriano is in the .310 range for OBP, not average but OBP.  While his SLG and oiwer numbers combined with his SB's made him very attractive in the 2002 and 2003 seasons - he continues to decline.  Given that Prior and Wood break down all the time and Zambrano can't stay off his e-mail -  I would not give up Hill and Pie to get Soriano.  I agree on the Dunn piece in terms of offensive skills however his defensive skills would make Burnitz look like a Gold Glove.
