John's Revised Top 50
I won't post John's revised lists for obvious reasons, but newsletter subscribers got them in the mail over the last few days. All I'm saying is that as a Felix-Verlander-Billingsley owner, I'm as happy as can be.
But I have some questions about some pitchers who did not make the revised list (or the original 2005 list for that matter). I'm curious what the readership here thinks of their progress and chances.
One guy is Chuck Tiffany, LA Dodgers. The southpaw is leading his team with 7 wins so far, and seems to be having a good year. What do you guys know about his underlying numbers, and skill progression? Is he still looking good?
Then there's Greg Miller, also of the Dodgers. I've read that he continues down the rehabilitation path. Any news on him? Think he's worth hanging onto in case that old skill level trumps his injuries?

Tiffany and Miller
Miller has finally come back to pitch in the gulf coast league. The results arent embarassing, but he obviousley has a ways to go before he is back to the guy that struck out 40 AA batters in 28 innings as an 18 year old. Hard to believe he's still only 20.
Billingsley
Weird to see Hong-Chih Kuo pitching. I thought he was dead...

the biscuits have a hex on billingsley
against everyone else in the southern league, billingsley dominates them with an ERA of 2.5 or under.
you did catch him on a bad day. i think the long lay off with with the all star break and stuff got to him. I was listening to the game on the radio, his command was off today. oh well.
anyways, how were the other dodger prospects? loney, laeroche, guzman, martin and young? did kuo impress?
Suns
*Guzman. Very much a bad ass. He has a biiig bat.
*D. Young. Not as obviously good, but that homer last night was opposite field and deep. It was an impressive stroke.
*Loney. Very smooth player. Very natural at 1B. I'm surprised his production isn't better because he obviously has a clue at the plate and has a clean swing. Maybe he just needs more development time? I like watching him play a lot.
*LaRoche. This was my first game to see him. He looked OK. He'd look real good in one AB, then totally out of the next one. I can't read him yet.
*Kuo. Biscuits were clueless against him. Didn't get a velocity report but he looked darn good.
