King Felix sidelined

Seattle paper story

Is there a doctor in the house?  How serious is this for Felix Hernandez?  He'll miss his next start and then...?

Star-divide

The story says he has been diagnosed with mild bursitis in his right shoulder.  That's all it says.

Is this from overuse?  Doesn't seem like it as the M's have been real careful with Felix.  Just normal growing pains?  Slept on his shoulder?  I have no clue, and I'm not a doctor.  Anyone in the Seattle area know anything more?

Blessing in disguise?
Blessing in disguise? Bursitis shouldn't be a concern, rest that arm!

Could be a concern
The Mariners have been partially negligent with this young pitcher's pitch counts. And hopefully this will send the Mariner's management a premptive warning to slow him up.

A pitcher's shoulder is always a concern versus a pitcher's elbow.A labrum tear(shoulder) could end a pitcher's career and TJ surgery could enhance a pitcher's career.Remember last year when the Dodger's were concerned with Greg Miller's shoulder initially diagnosed as bursitis?

I don't know about that
Felix hasn't been pitching more than six innings per start this year.  Hopefully it'll clear up with no problem, but I'd like to see the Mariners be extra cautious, and do everything they possibly can to make sure he makes a full recovery.  My guess is he's been pitching with this shoulder trouble for a few starts, given his especially high walk totals over his last few starts.

Great Performer
The King is built like a mountain. He's durable.
Besides, he's really not human anyway. So, we know he'll be OK.
