Go Beavs!
OBF - you musta been at the Regional & Super Regional games too!  They were WILD!  It's EASY to catch Beaver Fever.  Andy Jenkins sure does MASH ... and I'm hoping that the umps in Omaha give Dallas that knee-high strike ... if so, he'll do well and the Green Wave will go DOWN!

Aw Heck, Might As Well Go Out On a Limb
Tennessee over Tulane in the shocking upset. Freshman James Adkins keeps racking up the double-digit K's, gets the MVP and sets major league scouts' hearts a-flutter.
Go ahead and shoot your mouth off, like it might kill the silence.

Give me Baylor
Saw them in person this weekend, they should have won all three games... Assuming they get by Texas as Tulane takes care of business, the Tulane Baylor match-up will be must-see.

No love for Gordon?
If the 'huskers win it all, it'll be while riding his back!  But Tennessee sure seems HOT right now ... I'll take them from Bracket One ... I know I've been woofin' in other posts about the Beavs, and that's where my heart is ... but they really are inexperienced ... and I've seen 'em crumble under the lite pressure that USC put on 'em (in Game 2 @ Super) ... so I'll go with Tulane out of Bracket Two ... they'll split the first 2 of the Championship Series ... at which point it's a total crap-shoot ... so I'll take Tennessee ... with Chase Headley as MVP.

Beavers
I'll take the Beavers.  Nobody sweeps UC Santa Barbara at home.

Bracket 1: ASU
MVP: Jonah Nickerson

Go Gauchos!

Jonah's awesome ...
... but I think Canham is a more likely MVP ... well, actually Ellsbury is a more likely MVP :-)

Tulane over Baylor
Tulane over Baylor in a tight game.  5-4 in the championship.

This Longhorn thinks the horns are going to get lit up by Baylor, especially if McCormic pitches like he did against Clemson.

I might be wrong
But I am pretty sure Baylor can't play Tulane in the championship, different brackets.

I love Tennessee with Hochevar on the mound.  I think Tenn and NU are the two teams with the best shot in that bracket.  Hochevar can't pitch every game though and I don't see Tenn beating NU without him on the mound.

Bracket 2 seems like a walk to me.  I don't see any of those teams challenging Tulane.  Maybe Baylor with McCormick on the hill, but then they will use him in the first game against UT.

As much as I hate to say it, even with 26,000 in red, I don't see NU beating Tulane for the Championship.

Hochevar vs. Adkins
Hochevar has not been the Vols' only ace down the stretch. James Adkins' last three starts:

June 11 vs. Georgia Tech: 7.2 IP, 3 runs, 11 K, 1 BB
June 4 at Winthrop: 9 IP, 2 runs, 15 K, 3 BB
May 27 vs. South Carolina: 8 IP, 1 run, 12 K, 2 BB

That's a 38/6 K/BB ratio in 24.2 IP, with a 2.19 ERA and only 14 hits allowed, facing two Top 20 ranked teams to boot. Daniel Carte went 0-for-4 with three swinging strikeouts (and a GIDP) against him in the Winthrop game. GT's Jeremy Slayden struck out all three times he faced him.

Not bad for a freshman lefty!

Go ahead and shoot your mouth off, like it might kill the silence.

Micah Owings as MVP / but Oregon State wins it!!
John,

Owings as MVP??  Nice player/ nice pitcher, but you have just broken the heart of every remaining Georgia Tech fan (how many years in a row have they ranked in the top 5 at regular season end and NOT made it to Omaha??).

OSU because any RedSox fan has gotta be rooting for Jacoby Ellsbury's Beavers.
