Randor Bierd

West Michigan pitcher Randor Bierd, signed by the Tigers out of the Dominican Republic. 21 years old, Bierd works with a 86-90 MPH fastball, averaging 89. His fastball has good movement, particularly tailing action inside on right-handed hitters. He also has a slider (83 MPH consistently) and a curveball (76-78). He keeps the ball down, gets grounders, and works fast. I didn't know anything about him until yesterday, but he looks like a pretty decent prospect.

Cool, thanks.

It's too bad you didn't get to see Jurrjens, he pitches today.
