Around SBN: Certifiable: Purdue gets elite win over Tennessee

MOD: Cardinals

Ok, we've got 5 picks in the first 72 and a pretty bare farm system at the moment. What shall we do?

My gut feeling right now (before doing a lot of research), is that with the first two picks (28 and 30), we should simply take the best players available--and then worry about specific positions later. This is a big draft for the Cards, we've got to make the most of it!

Card power
It's funny, Mayberry is thought to go as high as 3, but BA also thinks he might fall to the Cards. I don't know, he's interesting ... then again, I thought Mike Ferris would come out gangbusters, too.

Hitters
I agree with getting the best talent possible.  But lets make sure we get some hitters.  Right now all our talent is on the mound.
What kind of names are we looking at?  I'm hoping that Pennington, Ellsbury, or Crowe falls that far.  But I only have 1 demand: no Jason Neighborgall!

I really like him, but I don't know if he'll fall to 28
