You know you're at a minor league game when...

A.  The older couple in front of you is doing the Times crossword.

B.  The older lady in the section next to you is working on her cross-stitching.

C.  The "super-fan" type in the first row has taken his shoes off and has his socks up on the concrete.

D.  All of the above.

All of these I saw at the Fresno/Omaha game last night.  Anyone else have any good stories about sights at minor league games?

P.S. - Jesse Foppert didn't look that good.  Hopefully Matt Cain looks better tomorrow.

Best b/w inning stunt
Was in Ft Wayne IN (Midwest Lg) when they got out the water balloon slingshot (big 3 person sling) and started launching into the crowd then went for the open press box windows.

Cant go wrong w/ dizzy bat races either

Foppert
I have him in one of my keeper leagues.  What was he throwing that makes you say he didn't look so good?  Can you shed some light?

Foppert
Was up in the zone all night.  He really had very poor control, he was missing the target all night.  Omaha's not a great hitting team, and their players hit some really solid balls off of him.  He threw a lot of pitches in only 5.2 innings.  Although he did retire 12 in a row at one point, I just didn't see anything that really made me say wow.  He only struck out 2 and his fastball seemed very hittable (which it tends to be when you can't throw it for a strike very often).
So far this year he has 31 K's in 33 innings, along with 22 BB's.

went to rancho cucamonga on saturday, was taking pictures and talking with a scout from the Rockies about Stewart and some other cats. . . as i'm walking around taking pictures i get blasted with a big ass water gun (fealt good as it was 95 degrees out), but i was more worried about the mascot getting my camera wet. . . after the mascot saw i had a Santa Barbara hat on, he came up to me and started hugging me. . . good times

Slight correction...
"The older couple in front of you is doing the Times crossword."

Nah, that's high school conference tourney material.  But he WAS keeping score, which made my job easier...
