How did Brandon McCarthy look?

I only got to see the 4th inning as I was playing with my kids.  Looked like he had a good breaking pitch going in the inning.  I came back in the 6th and he was gone.

Thoughts?  I'm looking at him or Davies at the #5 spot for my DMB league draft and can't decide between McCarthy and Davies as well as a couple of others.

Go McCarthy
I like McCarthy over Davies for your DMB draft. McCarthy has maintained a great K/9 and K/BB in the upper minors. He'll give up some homers in Comiskey, but in DMB, unlike fantasy baseball, that won't hurt you (park effects will cut him some slack).
Got my nats tickets. Lousy Seats: opening night(D'backs), 5/14(Cubs). Good Seats: 6/2(Braves), 6/9(A's), 7/5(Mets)

Good
He looked about as good as a Rookie making his major league debut can, given the sitation (40,000 fans, Wrigley Field, Crosstown series)...

He made a bad mistake to Henry Blanco in the second. With two outs, he grooved a first pitch fastball to him that went for a HR. Other than that, he was great. Ozzie pulled him too early trying to protect him from himself.

SOLID!!!
His first pitch was 94.  Arednaline!  He sat at 89-91 the rest of the game with good movement and control to both sides of the plate.  Has 2 good breaking balls.  A "downer" curve ball which was between 72-74.  And a harder more side-breaking curve (not a traditional slider) which was consistently at 76.  Didn't recall seeing a change.

Command is the other key--HE HAS GREAT COMMAND.  He threw all pitches for strikes.  Even dropped a 3-2 curve on Derrek Lee in the first inning that D. Lee barely fouled off.  Great presence on the hill.  Poised and confident.  Based on his track record and what I saw yesterday, he has to be about as good a prospect at there is.

Here for good?
Any thoughts on how long McCarthy will be in the bigs?  I'm a cheapskate playing in a free Y**! (sorry, no free advertising) league, and they haven't added him to the list of available players.  I'm desperate for another starter to bring my WHIP and ERA down, wondering if it's worth a move to pick him up, or if they're planning on sending him down when El Duque gets back off the DL.

McCarthy
I watched most of his start on the dish.  His fastball topped out at 94, but sat mostly between 89-92 with good late life.  His command was as advertised, and he had 3 pitches that he threw consistently for strikes (fastball, 12-6 curve, slurve).  He also has a changeup that I did not see at all yesterday.  The wind at Wrigley was blowing out at 30 MPH, so for him to give up just one longball in that gale was pretty cool.  The White Sox got 3 off Prior, for comparison.  McCarthy worked quickly, still had plenty left when he was pulled, and impressed me in general with his performance.  He could be a very good one.

any other White Sox year
and he'd be up for good.  He'll get some starts as El Duque is out.  But once he's back, I can't imagine him staying up unless Vizcaino keeps imploding and they keep him in the pen.  I don't see that happening though.
